OUR MISSION

The Mobile Council of the Navy League of the United States is dedicated to enhancing and supporting local active duty sea service members and their families within the Southern Alabama area; informing local public and elected officials of the importance of strong sea services; and supporting local youth programs such as the Sea Cadets, NJROTC and college NROTC programs.

Mobile Council Military Awards

The Mobile Council of the Navy League of the Unites States presented two awards today at the Mobile Chamber of Commerce Military Appreciation Luncheon. The Hugh Casteix Award was presented to BM1 Ryan Owens of the USCG Gulf Strike Team. The RADM J. Lloyd Abbot award was given to ET2 Ryan Reid of the USS AUGUSTA (LCS 34) Blue Crew. Congratulations and job well done.

Mobile Navy Council Receives National Navy League Mackie Award

The Navy League of the United States recognizes local councils each year with the Mackie Award for their communications efforts. This year the Mobile Council received a Silver Award for social media posts. The criteria for this award include frequency, quality of posts, timeliness, subject matter, use of imagery, original content, and use of methods of engagement. Read More

Navy League Celebrates 247th Birthday

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) -The Mobile Council of the Navy League is celebrating the Navy’s 247th birthday. The central theme of this year is “On Watch - 24/7 for 247 Years,” which highlights our Navy’s enduring ability to remain fully ready to respond to and effectively deter emergent threats.
